It is currently unlikely to talk about doing business on the internet without digital marketing.

But what is digital marketing?

Digital marketing basically speaking would be marketing on/for the internet. Promote products and/or services within the digital realm.

Today, digital marketing is inside everything you do – because it's all connected in a way.

Within this world, there are numerous aspects still little explored and known. 5, 6 years ago, when people talked about it, all they thought about was a person who produced “virtual” products and sold them over the internet.

Today the scenario is quite different. Behind this digital universe there are dozens of new business options and professions that emerge to support this new world, new professionals, highly qualified specialists, who have gained more space and prominence every day.

Among the many that are emerging, there are professions that are currently identified with the 10 most promising on the market, which are: Copywriter, Traffic Manager, Digital Marketing Manager, Social Media, Support, Programmer, Virtual Assistant, Audiovisual, Designer and Co-producer .

If you want to know more about each of these professions, then you need to read this post:

One of them is the copywriting professional, or the “Copywriter”. Have you heard of them?

Probably not, but you've certainly read something he's written about a product or service, been enchanted and bought it, even without knowing that what you read was made especially with his characteristics, lifestyle and consumption in mind.

Spooky? Not so much. Every day millions and millions of people practice buying actions on the internet based on what some copywriter has written on the web. If you want to understand how this industry works, how the term came about, and what is the role of copywriting in digital marketing, continue reading this post.

From here you will understand about:

What is copywriting

Where did copywriting come from?

How did this term come about?

What Copywriters effectively do

What are the Copywriter's areas of expertise within Digital Marketing

What is copywriting

Basically speaking, copywriting is actually a persuasive writing technique. It is when a person writes with the intention of making the reader take some action, regardless of sales.

Usually you must have already been impacted by some type of text or reading that generated sensations, so that you were driven by your emotions. You've probably come across this when you read a book you really liked and thought about the story for a long time. Writers have been doing this for centuries.

What happened was that traditional marketing somehow saw the possibility of converting this to their area and “improved” this technique, aimed at being used in their sales goals and winning over and customers.

“Copywriting is the technique of delighting customers through words.”

The product of copywriting is, simply speaking, a text produced in order to increase brand recognition and persuade a person or a group of people to take some action. This technique became even more powerful after the internet age, and even more refined in use by digital marketing.

But if it's so old, where exactly did copywriting come from?

Where did copywriting come from?

The first “Copywriter” so to speak in history was the American John Emory Powers. He was born in New York in 1837. In fact, the term copywriting didn't even exist at that time. John was the world's first full-time advertising copywriter.

He worked at a department store where he wrote ads part-time before becoming a freelancer. Their ads drew so much attention that each campaign sold millions to business owners.

How did this term come about?

Despite being very widespread nowadays because of the explosion of digital marketing, the term copywriting is quite old. it was first defined in 1828 by Noah Webster, without a literal translation into English, but something that was defined as “something original that must be imitated in writing”.

The term fell into disuse in the literature, but remained among journalists and, in 1870, the term Copywriter was used to define and differentiate the professional who writes advertisements from the traditional professionals of journalism.

What Copywriters Effectively Do

As previously mentioned, the copywriting professional is the professional who creates texts in order to persuade the audience to take action. See I said “persuade” and “take action”

Persuading is not lying. Quite the opposite. When a copywriter is preparing an ad, a text, he needs to always be sincere and tell the truth to those who are going to read it. Also because the risk is very great of lying and losing credibility with the public.

Taking action does not necessarily mean buying. It could be subscribing to a list to receive emails with relevant content, for example. In many ways and types you can get the audience to do what you want.

The secret is in the way it is written. It is a set of techniques and strategies, which range from titles to words that can and cannot be used in any way when producing your copy, your text.

In this post I give examples of words that, if used in your text, will make your audience run away from you!

Amaze your audience and don't sell anything using these 7 words in your copy

And what are the copywriter's areas of expertise within Digital Marketing?

Although you hear very little about him, the copywriting professional today is one of the most requested by digital marketing professionals, due to the high demand and low supply of good professionals in the market today, as he is essential in practically all stages of development. product launch, brand recognition, etc. moreover, it fits into all niches.

Some niches that the copywriter can act are the niches of: health, finance, sports, marketing, education, fashion, nutrition.

These niches were not chosen at random. These are niches that have shown enormous potential for conversion and sales within digital marketing. If you want to know the hottest niches for digital launches, you can download the e-book I made about the most profitable niches:
